⭐️ Boring Pips goes through a comprehensive, custom optimization process called "Overfit Protection." This is a robust optimization process designed to eliminate any overfitting influence on the trading system, ensuring the generalizability of the resulting model.

💎 The anti-overfitting process consists of 3 stages:

➡️ Initial Optimization. This stage involves optimizing Boring Pips using historical data from 2010 to 2019. The goal is to validate the initial premise of the trading strategy and identify the most robust parameter values.

➡️ Walk-Forward: In the second stage, the parameters that performed well in the first stage are tested against completely fresh data from 2019 to 2022. The goal is to confirm the stability of the trading system on new data and evaluate the model's predictive power.

➡️ Stress Testing. The parameter values that passed the first two stages are then stress-tested. In this final test, a simulation algorithm introduces variables such as noise and latency into the initial entry and exit points (as determined by the parameters selected in the walk-forward stage). The goal is to push the system beyond its "comfort zone" and assess its resilience to random factors such as latency and noise.
